Quick answers before you start

How should I compare Meydan formation routes?

Compare the standard and Fawri routes against the proposed owners, management and activities before selecting a package. The available route must fit the actual applicant structure as well as the intended licence scope.

What should a Meydan founder plan beyond incorporation?

Plan workspace, individual residence needs, banking evidence and any separate permissions alongside incorporation. A digital company-registration process does not establish that every later appointment or verification can be completed remotely.

An activity and structure brief

Describe each revenue stream and proposed activity group, linking licence scope with the actual way customers are served.

An organised application file

Organise individual or corporate-owner records and the proposed management information for the digital application file.

A launch and handover plan

Separate the agreed workspace and licence from founder or employee residence, banking preparation and recurring administration.

Firswood provides this service directly. Agree the preparation, submission and follow-up responsibilities in the written proposal, including any required professional authorisation. Authority, regulator, bank and immigration decisions remain with the relevant body.

Is Meydan Free Zone right for your business?

Meydan Free Zone offers a digital company-registration route in Dubai. Its activity catalogue and workspace arrangements can suit service businesses, online ventures and trading models, but the selected codes must describe the actual work. Start by separating what the company will invoice from any supporting activity it merely uses internally. If you are still choosing a jurisdiction, use the Dubai free-zone comparison to establish which routes fit your operating model.

Meydan’s Fawri route has narrower conditions than standard formation: one individual must hold all shareholder, manager, director and beneficial-owner roles, and the nationality and activity must be eligible. Submission requires an Emirates ID holder, either the applicant or someone applying on their behalf. Confirm current eligibility before choosing the route or planning a launch date.

Meydan activities, workspace and visa planning

Review activity combinations, digital registration and workspace against your planned operation.

01

Choose the activity groups your revenue needs

Create a short description of every revenue stream, then identify the matching activity codes and groups. Meydan allows activity grouping, but compatibility and external approvals still matter. A business combining consulting with product sales should establish how each part is covered, rather than assuming a broad commercial label includes both.

02

Check flexi-desk access and premises requirements

A flexi-desk arrangement combines shared workspace with an address for the company. Establish how access, meetings and correspondence work and whether the intended activity needs dedicated premises. Treat the lease agreement as an operating document to review, not simply an item required to complete registration.

03

Does a zero-visa Meydan licence include residency?

No. Meydan’s zero-visa option includes a licence and lease arrangement; its FAQ separately requires an immigration card and visa allocation before a visa application. If a founder needs residency now, compare the full immigration and individual application scope. If hiring comes later, ask what upgrade, additional charges and checks would apply at that stage. Record the number of people, their intended roles and current residence status so a zero-visa quote is not compared with a different sponsorship requirement. Prepare with a clear checklist

Documents required for Meydan Free Zone

Individual founders and corporate owners follow different checklists. Final requirements depend on the route, ownership structure and selected activities.

Preparation view: All preparation groups

3 preparation items

Individual shareholders and management

Prepare clear identity copies and consistent names, nationality and contact details for the proposed participants. Confirm the required passport validity before submission.
Have a current digital photograph and UAE visa and Emirates ID copies available where applicable. Residence processing may require a separate photograph specification.
Confirm proposed names, business activities, shareholdings, management appointments and beneficial-owner information before the digital forms and constitutional documents are prepared.
3 preparation items

Corporate shareholders or a branch

Meydan’s FAQ identifies incorporation, incumbency and constitutional records for corporate owners. Obtain the correct parent-company documents before arranging any required certification.
The resolution should authorise the investment or branch and identify the appointed representatives. For a corporate shareholder, make the proposed shareholding in the new company explicit.
Provide the requested passports and ownership-chain information. The records should explain both the corporate entity and the people who ultimately own or control it.

Use the current route-specific checklist for document age, certification and original-signature requirements.

The work, step by step

Your Meydan setup, stage by stage

A complete brief keeps licence selection, corporate documents and post-formation services aligned.

  1. 01

    Map activities and customers

Explain the services or goods, expected customer locations and how transactions will work. Review the activity groupings and any external approvals affecting the proposed scope.

  2. 02

    Choose the eligible route

Compare standard formation with Fawri where suitable. Set out shareholders, roles, workspace and immigration needs so a fast-track option is assessed on its actual conditions.

  3. 03

    Confirm the name and proposal

Check the proposed company names and review the full package. Record the licence term, facility arrangement, activity coverage and separate visa-related services.

  4. 04

    Complete the application file

Upload the requested identity or corporate documents and ownership information. Check spellings, share percentages and authorised signatories before the file is submitted for review.

  5. 05

    Execute formation documents

Complete the required signatures and payment stages. Review the licence, formation certificate, share register, memorandum and lease supplied following approval.

  6. 06

    Arrange the operating services

If needed, proceed with the immigration card, visa allocation and individual applications. Prepare the banking file and any activity permissions separately, using the issued company documents.

Plan your budget

Fees and the complete setup budget

The proposal should identify the selected formation route and licence term. Compare the whole company setup with the services needed by each founder.

Know what happens when

Preparation, approvals and handover

Meydan publishes accelerated options for eligible applications. The schedule should follow the chosen route and complete document file, with banking and residency treated separately.

Before submission

Activity and eligibility review

Standard and Fawri routes have different conditions. Confirm that the shareholders, roles and activities fit before relying on a promotional turnaround.

Document preparation

Application and signatures

Missing corporate records, inconsistent names or additional approvals can hold up the file before the authority can complete its assessment.

Authority review

Registration decision

Licence issuance follows the applicable review, signing and payment requirements. The agreed service scope should identify what counts as a completed application.

After formation

Residency and banking

The immigration card and allocation precede the relevant residence applications. Bank onboarding has its own information requests and approval process.

Looking ahead

After your Meydan company is formed

Use the issued document pack to establish an orderly operating and renewal routine.

Keep company information current

Maintain ownership, management and contact records, including beneficial-owner information. Request the appropriate amendment when the business structure or licensed activity changes.

Prepare banking and accounting

Create a concise business profile supported by customer, supplier and funding information. Retain the company documents and begin recording transactions from the outset. Establish a bookkeeping routine and assess corporate tax registration separately from the licence.

Manage the renewal calendar

Track the licence, lease and any immigration or residence documents separately. Review future activity and staffing needs before choosing the renewal package.

Meydan Free Zone questions

Need to discuss your own circumstances?

Can I register without travelling to Dubai?

Meydan provides digital formation routes. That does not make every later service remote: residency procedures, bank requirements or regulated permissions can involve additional steps. Plan the company registration and personal relocation as separate workstreams.

Who can use the Fawri route?

At formation, Fawri is for an eligible single-individual LLC, with that person also serving as manager, director and beneficial owner. Nationality and activity lists apply, and an Emirates ID holder must submit the application. Branches and other structures need the appropriate alternative route; compliance review still applies.

Can one company have several activities?

Meydan offers activity groups, but the exact selection and compatibility need review. Provide the actual services and products you intend to sell so the proposed codes can be checked before incorporation.

What documents should I receive?

Meydan’s published formation pack includes a certificate of formation, share register, business licence, lease and memorandum. Review the details and retain usable digital copies for subsequent company administration.

Does a zero-visa licence include a company address?

Meydan’s FAQ states that its zero-visa licence includes a lease agreement. Confirm the access and facility terms in your proposal; the presence of a lease does not describe every workspace service included.

Can I apply for residency after incorporation?

Meydan says this can follow incorporation where the company has the immigration card and visa allocation. Individual approval and application services are separate from the licence and should be costed accordingly.

Will choosing Meydan guarantee a bank account?

No. Company documents support an application, but a bank evaluates the business, owners, funding and anticipated transactions. A clear commercial profile and consistent records are useful preparation for that separate assessment. The business bank account preparation guide explains how to organise that file.
