Quick answers before you start

Where should a Dominica citizenship enquiry start?

Confirm the Commonwealth of Dominica programme and compare its EDF and approved-property routes against the applicant's circumstances. Prepare the family history, funding evidence and interview records through the required authorised-agent channel.

What should the application scope identify for a family?

Identify every proposed applicant and the corresponding document and evidence requirements. Agree who prepares the records, resolves outstanding questions and handles formal programme submission before comparing the complete route and cost commitments.

Services / The essentials

Prepare the Dominica application from records to review

The Commonwealth of Dominica publishes an Economic Diversification Fund route and an approved real-estate route for its citizenship programme. Both involve eligibility and background assessment. Choosing between them should include an examination of total costs, financial conditions and the practical work required to prepare the applicants’ records, rather than only the qualifying amount. Firswood Consultancy, trading as CompanyFormation.ae, directly manages Dominica citizenship preparation and coordination. We organise the applicant brief, document work and application handover. Formal representation and submission must follow the official programme channel; the engagement should identify the responsible programme-authorised professional, their current status, fees and duties. Government assessment determines the outcome.

What this helps you prepare

A complete brief for the authorised programme representative

Preparation does not assure eligibility, citizenship or travel rights. Verify the current programme rules.

Connect the programme brief with the evidence and assessment stages. Eligibility and decisions remain subject to the relevant programme rules.

Prepare with a clear checklist

Records for a Dominica citizenship file

The Citizenship by Investment Unit publishes a detailed reference checklist. The authorised agent confirms the current requirements for each applicant.

2 preparation items

Application and personal history

Complete the prescribed forms and identification records consistently. The official set includes separate material for disclosure, fingerprint/photo verification and medical assessment.
Organise birth and relevant marriage records together with the police evidence required for the applicant’s history. Explain name changes and provide accepted translations where needed.
2 preparation items

Financial and family support

Prepare the underlying financial evidence, bank information and business or employment history. Use the agent’s instructions for statements, references and declarations.
Where relevant, provide education, financial-support or guardianship records. A property application also needs the appropriate transaction documentation for review.

The receiving authority or appointed professional confirms the final checklist.

Have a question about one of these records?

A closer look

Dominica route choice, residence history and funding evidence

A country-by-country document plan helps the authorised agent assess the complete family file.

01

Economic Diversification Fund or approved real estate?

A contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund and the acquisition of a qualifying property interest are different transactions. For property, check the official approval, ownership structure, holding conditions and commercial obligations. Do not assume that a hotel’s inclusion in programme marketing guarantees rental income or a buyer at exit. The citizenship file and the commercial investment merit separate review. If your shortlist also includes a Pacific programme, review the separate Vanuatu programme identity and travel-rule checks. Compare each programme on its own current requirements; a Dominica checklist or benefit should not be transferred to another country.

02

Collect records against each applicant’s residence history

Map each applicant’s residence and civil-status history before ordering records. Dominica’s checklist covers identity, background, medical and financial evidence; the authorised agent confirms which records apply and how current they must be. Use a country-by-country tracker for issuer, language, issue date and outstanding action. Confirm the attestation route for overseas documents before certificates are translated or legalised.

03

Explain how the application funds were generated

A bank balance alone may not explain how funds were generated. If the application relies on business income, assemble the ownership and financial records that connect you to that income. If it relies on a sale or inheritance, identify the underlying transaction. Keep the explanation factual and consistent, with material gaps flagged for the agent’s assessment. Where a document also requires signing before a specified professional, arrange the correct witnessing procedure using the agent’s instructions.

The work, step by step

Preparing a Dominica citizenship application

An orderly preparation stage supports the authorised agent’s formal review and submission.

  1. 01

    Confirm the authorised-agent engagement

Verify the professional’s status and obtain the family and route assessment. Agree fees, responsibilities and communication arrangements.

  2. 02

    Map and obtain the records

Use the official checklist to identify documents for each person. Coordinate issuing authorities, medical appointments and accepted certification.

  3. 03

    Reconcile forms and funding evidence

Review the complete application for consistent names, history and financial explanations. The authorised agent assesses readiness before submission.

  4. 04

    Complete the government assessment

Applicants aged 16 or over must attend a mandatory interview. Respond to due-diligence questions and appointment instructions through the authorised agent. The Citizenship by Investment Unit determines the outcome.

  5. 05

    Follow the approval instructions

If approved in principle, complete the required route payment and evidence. Obtain the citizenship certificate and arrange the separate passport application.

Plan your budget

Dominica programme costs and scope

A family-specific quotation should identify both the main route and all supporting work.

Know what happens when

Preparation, assessment and completion

The time needed to assemble a credible file can differ substantially from the authority’s formal review period.

Before the file is lodged

Preparation

Overseas clearances and missing civil records may be the longest dependencies. Coordinate their validity with the planned submission.

Due diligence and interview

Assessment

The authority evaluates the application and may seek explanations or additional evidence. A fixed completion promise would be inappropriate.

After approval in principle

Completion

Follow the official contribution or property-payment instruction and retain proof before the final citizenship and passport stages.

Looking ahead

After the Dominica application concludes

A complete handover should cover the citizenship record and the terms of any continuing investment.

Preserve the decision and certificates

Keep official correspondence, payment evidence and issued documents together with the authorised agent’s details.

Track property commitments

For an approved real-estate route, confirm the applicable holding and resale conditions before any proposed disposal or transfer.

Plan renewals and record updates

Check passport procedures and any notification requirements through official channels. Review destination visa rules before making travel commitments.

Dominica citizenship-by-investment questions

Need to discuss your own circumstances?

Is Dominica the same programme as the Dominican Republic?

No. This page concerns the Commonwealth of Dominica and its Citizenship by Investment Unit. Check the country and authority carefully when comparing material.

Can I lodge the application directly?

The Unit’s published process requires an authorised agent and does not accept direct citizenship-by-investment submissions.

Who handles the service and formal programme submission?

Firswood Consultancy directly manages the preparation and coordination service. Formal submission follows Dominica’s required channel, with the responsible programme-authorised professional and current authorisation identified in the engagement. Direct service delivery is not a government approval or a citizenship guarantee.

Can an ordinary property purchase qualify?

Only a transaction meeting the current approved real-estate conditions can qualify. Check the particular project and ownership interest before committing. A Grenada approved project is governed by a different programme and should not be used as evidence of Dominica eligibility.

Why is a detailed residence history useful?

It helps the agent identify the background records needed from relevant countries and plan their certification and timing correctly.

Can a contribution bypass the background assessment?

No. Due diligence remains mandatory, and the official process requires an interview for every applicant aged 16 or over. A qualifying payment does not predetermine the authority’s decision. Source: Dominica CBIU: application process.
